Occupational therapy

Our occupational therapy service helps people who have a physical disability to live safely and independently in their own homes.

Our occupational therapy service can help people who have a physical disability to live safely and independently in their own homes.

An occupational therapy assessment can help decide the best way to meet your needs. A member of the team will contact you and may visit you at home, to find out what difficulties you may be having with everyday tasks. This could include:

  • getting into or out of your home
  • preparing and cooking meals
  • dressing yourself
  • washing yourself.

Our occupational therapists will help with advice, guidance and practical help to work towards overcoming some of the concerns you or your carers may have.

This could include looking at ways in which a task could be done differently, using specialist equipment, recommending alterations or changes to your home or referring you to other services that can help.
