Do I need a permit to use the Household Waste Recycling Centre?
Only residents of the borough are permitted to use t he HWRC. Anyone attempting to deliver commercial, business or industrial waste to the recycling centre will be refused entry.

Residents who obtain a vehicle permit for Dunsdale HWRC are advised that additional charges also apply to dispose of hardcore, rubble & ceramics, plasterboard, tyres, soil. Asbestosis also accepted but not until 4th June onwards.
Currently, only single entry permits costing £8.85 each are available to purchase on entry to Dunsdale. Some vehicles are not permitted to tip under any circumstances.*

Only residents of Redcar & Cleveland Borough are permitted to use the House hold Waste Recycling Centre. A hard copy of proof of residence is required (Council tax bill, driving licence, recent utility bill)
*Permits for Vans / Hire Vans / pick-ups
Permits will ONLY be issued to vans / pick-ups, no greater than a standard transit van. A standard transit van is short wheel-base (up to 5.55m total length) single wheel rear axle and no taller than 1.9m in height.
Anyone attending site without a valid permit will be refused entry. The vehicle permit will be stamped and dated by site personnel, authorising use of the HWRC facility. Discretion is applied to vehicles adapted to accommodate disabilities.
Monitoring of access
CCTV is in operation on the site and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
