Virtual School

Redcar and Cleveland Virtual School is a group of education professionals, responsible with the progress of the children we look after both currently and previously, known as children in our care (CioC) and previously children in our care (PCioC). This also includes children that are the responsibility of Redcar and Cleveland but have been placed in schools in other authorities. 

The Virtual School is not an online learning institution, nor a school that children physically attend. It is not replacement for a mainstream school.

Our aim is to promote the education and improve the achievements of looked-after and previously looked-after children based on the statutory requirements set out in the Department for Education guidance which can be found at:
