Contacting the Transport Team

If you need to contact the transport team to discuss your child’s travel arrangements or any change in your circumstances please email transport@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk or telephone 01642 444974. 

If your child gets to school or college via a minibus, people carrier or taxi please notify the transport team immediately if your child will be absent, so that we can temporarily cancel transport arrangements. You can let us know by completing the web form below:

Home to School Transport Guide  - This document is a guide for children, young people, parents and carers. It outlines how Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council provide transport services and the expectations for students using the service. 

Parent Agreement (small vehicle transport) – This document is for parents of students travelling via people carriers and taxis. 

Personal Travel Budgets - Where it is cost effective to do so, the Council may offer parents a Personal Travel Budget as an alternative to providing transport.

Independent Travel Training - The Council offer a Travel Training Service to help young people with special educational needs develop the skills they need to travel independently and use public transport. Please see our travel training leaflet for more information. 

Where students receive school transport services, the transport team may be able to work alongside the travel trainers and provide opportunities for students to gradually increase their independence.
