The labour market locally and regionally is developing and changing rapidly. 

There are a number of projects currently taking place that have or will result in good quality jobs throughout the borough including:

  • The Redcar Town Deal - this project is a £25million investment in development projects for Redcar.
  • Teesworks - the largest industrial site in the UK with businesses from various industries recruiting for training and employment opportunities.

Jobs in engineering 

There are a number of routes and pathways into different types of engineering roles available. Our Foundation for Jobs team spoke with the Teesworks Skills Academy and Teesside University about these pathways.

The Tees Valley Combined Authority plays a key role in the local labour market and work with employers, businesses and industry to provide support for those looking for jobs.
