REDCAR and Cleveland residents, visitors and businesses have once again the chance to take part in A Taste of Redcar and Cleveland as it brings more exclusive offers for people to enjoy.
Running between Wednesday 4 November and Sunday 15 November, hospitality businesses will be offering exclusive deals on their tasty treats with set prices of £5, £10, £15, £20, £25 and £30+ depending on the venue.
The scheme will showcase the wide variety of food and drink across the borough and give local venues the opportunity to gain new customers whilst also offering customers the chance to enjoy their favourite dishes with a deal or try something new.
Participating businesses include Cookfellas, The Twisted Peel and Sergios in Guisborough, Daisy-Mae’s Vintage Tea Room, Armandos and Koha in Redcar, Real Meals Deli and Café, Scoundrels Coffee Co and Brockley Hall in Saltburn, Bello Bistro, The Brickyard and Holey Molies in East Cleveland and many more offering mouthwatering deals.
One of the businesses joining the scheme will be NiteLight CIC, a non-profit organisation based in Southbank set up to help those who are homeless and struggling. They will be offering two meals, two sides, and two drinks for £15 with all funds going towards their ‘pay forward’ service to support anyone in need of food.
The founder of NiteLight, Nadia Gibany said: “We are here because we want to help people, whether it's those unfortunately homeless or just people who are struggling. We joined the scheme so that we can give people a great deal for people to eat out. It helps us to spread the word about what we do and invites new customers to try our food.”
Lise Addison, a volunteer at NiteLight said: “We have shower and washing facilities for the homeless and we offer free three course Christmas meals for the homeless and struggling families alongside other services.
“We also run a free stall every Friday in Southbank among other areas across Teesside where people can get free tea, coffee, cakes and more. It all goes back into the community.”
Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Cllr Alec Brown, said: “It is very heartwarming to see that this campaign is not only supporting local businesses, but also helping organisations give back to the communities and those in need.
“A Taste of Redcar and Cleveland is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the brilliant food and drink businesses we have right across our borough. From cafés to bars, these businesses make an important contribution to our local communities and help make Redcar and Cleveland a great place to live and visit.”
