Have your say on latest designs for Eston Pool

Members of the public have been invited to a special drop-in event to give their views on exciting plans for Eston Pool.

The new pool, if planning permission is granted, will provide modern facilities to meet the needs of Eston and the surrounding areas.

The new facility, which is designed to Sport England recommendations, will provide a 25 metre, six lane pool with changing areas, a 150-seat spectator gallery, an official’s room for gala use and a Changing Places facility which can be accessed via a new lobby.

The swimming pool will be accessible for all and will facilitate swimming lessons as well as galas and competition swimming.

Members of the public can visit the special drop-in event, which takes place at Eston Leisure Centre on Monday 20 February between 10am and 6pm. Alternatively, the public can fill out a digital survey, which is open for two weeks. This is available at:

The project will be taken to Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s Regulatory Committee in June and, if approved, work will begin in autumn.

Cllr Steve Kay, Cabinet Member for Health and Welfare at the Council, said:

“It is fantastic that plans are progressing for this major project which will serve the public for many years and have a significant positive impact on exercise and activity levels across the wider area.

“We were devastated that our Levelling Up bid for Eston was unsuccessful, but I’m overjoyed that despite the setback, we are pushing forward with this vital project.

“Please take the opportunity to have your say.”
