Support

Council Tax Support

Council Tax Support is available for those who are having difficultly paying their Council Tax. More information can be found on the Council Tax Support page here.


COVID19 Hardship Support   

The government has made funding available to support Council Tax Support households for financial year 2020. A reduction in council tax of £150 will be automatically applied to each household receiving Council Tax Support. Further details regarding the hardship fund can be found on the gov.uk Hardship Fund information page​.


Deferring Payments

​Council Tax bills can be extended to cover 12 months (April to March) instead of the usual 10 month (March - January) billing period. Residents who wish to extended their billing period can do this online using our Council Tax Online system here. Setting up a new account is simple, all you need is a copy of your Council Tax bill so that you can enter your Council Tax account number.​


Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP)

A Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) can be made to customers who are entitled to Housing Benefit and Universal Credit but need further financial assistance with the shortfall between their Housing Benefit award and their rent. More information is available on the DHP page here.


Social Fund

The Council's Social Fund scheme offers financial assistance to residents who have had a disaster, are in crisis or require financial help to settle into the community if they are vulnerable. You can find more information about the Social Fund online here.

Residents with MyAccount - Council Tax account can opt-in to paperless billing. Go Green - switch to paperless Council Tax billing here.
