Electoral Register

Versions of the electoral register

Full register

The full electoral register is used for several purposes started in law:

  • Electoral purposes
  • Detecting crimes (eg. Fraud)
  • Calling people for jury service
  • Checking credit applications

Open register

Previously known as edited register, the open register is an extract of the full register that can be bought by any person, company or organisation and used for different purposes such as to confirm names and addresses.

Anyone can remove themselves from the open register at any time.  This will not affect their right to vote or their credit applications.

View the electoral register

To view the full electoral register, you will need to call the electoral services on 01642 774774 or email electoral_registration@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk to book an appointment.

This has to be viewed under supervision and only handwritten notes can be made at the time of viewing. Photocopying of the full register is not allowed.
