Strategic flood risk assessment

The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) provides the central source of all relevant flood risk information and provides the evidence base to make decisions on where to direct new development to ensure development is located in sustainable locations

Level 2 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

The level 2 SFRA provides a detailed assessment of flood hazards for the area at risk of tidal flooding and how this risk impacts on proposed development sites.

The study also provides further detail on the level of flood risk in the critical drainage areas and sets out options to remediate the problems in these areas.

The study has identified three areas in the borough which have drainage problems. These are Redcar, Eston and Guisborough.
