Hospitality businesses across Redcar and Cleveland have once again the chance to sign up to A Taste or Redcar and Cleveland, the area’s largest food and drink campaign, which is making a return between Wednesday 4 March and Sunday 15 March 2026.
As part of the campaign, local businesses will offer exclusive deals aiming to boost their trade and attract new customers while residents and visitors will have the chance to try the diverse food and drink offer across the borough for a great value.
The campaign is open to all sit-in hospitality venues, including bars, cafés, bistros, pubs, restaurants, and hotels. Whether serving food, drinks, or both, businesses are invited to take part by offering at least one unique deal or discount aligned with set price points: £5, £10, £15, £20, £25, and £30+. Offers can be tailored to suit each venue.
Participating businesses will benefit from free promotion through the Enjoy Redcar and Cleveland tourism platform, social media channels, and inclusion in printed and digital marketing materials.
One if the new businesses joining this campaign is Scoundrels Coffee Co. in Saltburn. The business which opened two and a half years ago will be offering a special deal consisting in a scone or tea cake and a hot drink of your choice for £5.
When asked where the idea to open a coffee shop came from, Reece Cook, the owner, answered: “Initially we wanted to open a barbershop, as I already own one in Middlesbrough, but after getting this place we felt that a coffee shop would fit better here.
“We’ve joined a Taste of Redcar and Cleveland to invite more people in, so that those who haven’t tried Scoundrels yet will come and give us a go.”
The business is gradually expanding, with another room being added to allow more visitors and potential for food to be introduced to the menu.
Cllr Carrie Richardson, Cabinet Member for Climate and Culture, said: “It is always exciting seeing a variety of venues taking part in A Taste of Redcar and Cleveland, each with their own unique deals. Redcar and Cleveland is home to a fantastic range of independent food and drink businesses, and this campaign is a great way to shine a spotlight on them.
“We’re proud to support our local establishments and I encourage venues to sign up and residents to explore the fantastic food and drink offer we have on our doorstep.”
People can find out more about Scoundrels and the other participating businesses and have a look at their offers at Enjoy. The website will be regularly updated as new businesses join the scheme.
