Multi-million-pound investment plan for TS6 area submitted to Government

An ambitious regeneration and investment plan for the TS6 community has been submitted to the Government today (Friday, November 28) by the TS6 Together Neighbourhood Board.

If approved by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) the 10-year regeneration and 4-year investment plan could unlock up to £20 million of Government funding to support the TS6 area, which covers Teesville, Eston, Grangetown, Normanby and South Bank.

Chair of the TS6 Together Neighbourhood Board, Jason Faulkner, said:

“The plan we have submitted to Government is a result of extensive engagement work with the TS6 community which took place throughout the summer and included surveys, workshops, conferences, focus groups, school visits, activities and events.

“There are four areas for investment that have been identified which are: safety and security, education and opportunity, community cohesion and regeneration, high streets and heritage.

“While the plan goes through Government approval the board will begin re-engaging with the TS6 community to identify specific projects and investment that will benefit local people, community groups, charities and businesses across the four key areas.”

Cllr Alec Brown, Leader of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, added:

“The Council is committed to driving investment in the TS6 area. This 10-year investment plan, alongside work taking place at Eston Precinct and the near completion of Eston Swimming Pool will have a lasting positive impact on the area and the TS6 community.”

Delivery of the projects could begin as soon as spring 2026, following approval of the plan by Government and agreement of the projects with the community.

The TS6 Together Board is made up of industry experts, business leaders, elected members and community representatives who have volunteered to support the regeneration of TS6.
