Apply for certification
Before applying, please read our guidance on public weighbridge operator certification. Applicants should ensure that they have received sufficient training in the operation of the equipment.
When you are ready to apply, please email tradingstandards@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk for an application form and we will subsequently contact you to arrange a date for the test.
Fees
An hourly rate of £80 is charged for testing and therefore the cost will depend on the number of applicants being tested. As a guide we would normally expect to charge the following:
- Single applicant: £80
- Two to four applicants: £160
- Five to 10 applicants: £240
Please note the test is carried out on your business premises and multiple trips will incur multiples of the above fees. The fees are VAT exempt. Fees can be taken on the day in the form of cash or cheque, or you can be invoiced.
