Club Gaming Permits and/or Club Machine Permits
Members Clubs and Miners' welfare institutes (but not Commercial Clubs) may apply for a Club Gaming Permit or a Club Machine Permit. The Club Gaming Permit will enable the premises to provide gaming machines (3 machines of categories B, C or D), equal chance gaming and games of chance as set out in forthcoming regulations.
A Club Machine Permit will enable the premises to provide gaming machines (3 machines of categories B, C or D).

Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) Gaming Machine Permits
Where an operator wishes to provide gaming machines at any premises that does not hold a premises licence, he/she may apply to the licensing authority for this permit.
The applicant must show that the premises will be wholly or mainly used for making gaming machines available for use.

Licensed Premises Gaming Machines
Premises licensed under the Licensing Act 2003 to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises are automatically be entitled to make available 2 gaming machines of categories C and/or D.
The licence holder of the premises (under the Licensing Act 2003) merely needs to notify the licensing authority in writing using the form below, pay the prescribed fee and comply with any relevant codes of practice (see link below).
If the holder of an alcohol-licensed premises (under the Licensing Act 2003) wishes to make available more than 2 gaming machines, he/she needs to apply for a permit.

Small Society Lottery Registrations
A lottery promoted wholly on behalf of a non-commercial society whose proceeds do not exceed £250,000 in a calendar year is referred to as a small society lottery (Schedule 11, Part 4 of the Act defines a small society lottery in more detail).
Small Society Lotteries are exempt from registration with the Gambling Commission, but are required to be registered with the local authority.

A prize gaming permit is issued by the licensing authority to authorise the provision of facilities for gaming with prizes on specified premises.
