Information about how we process personal information from CCTV cameras

The Council operates CCTV to support the wider Community Safety Partnership to address crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour and environmental crime across our Borough, to make neighbourhoods safer and cleaner and to increase public safety.

All personal data obtained by our CCTV system, shall be processed fairly and lawfully. In processing personal data there will be total respect for everyone's homes, private and family lives. You can view our CCTV Code of Practice document below:

The Information Commissioners code of practice​, regarding surveillance cameras, provides information regarding how data is gathered and properly protected.

We have CCTV in the following areas:

  • Greater Eston – including Eston, Grangetown, Normanby, Ormesby, South Bank and Teessville
  • Coastal – including Marske, New Marske, Redcar and Saltburn
  • Guisborough & East Cleveland – including Brotton, Guisborough, Loftus and Skelton
