Voting and elections

You can vote in person at a polling station, by post or by proxy. In order to vote you must be registered to vote.

Every year the Council must update the Electoral (Voter) Register to make sure it is complete and accurate. This process is known as the annual canvass and takes place each year between July and November.

The publication of the election verification number is required as part of The Local Authority (Referendums)
(Petitions & Directions) (England) Regulations 2000.
