We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic people to help as a Tramway Operative Assistants. Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before – we’ll give you all the training you need.
We’re also super flexible with your time – whether you can help regularly or just now and then, we’d love to hear from you.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Giving visitors a warm and friendly welcome
- Helping people safely on and off the carriages at either top or bottom stations
- Sharing fun facts and stories about the tramway’s amazing history
- Collecting fares
- Promoting and restocking our lovely merchandise
- Answering questions and helping visitors make the most of their visit
- Keeping things safe and reporting anything that needs attention
This opportunity will suit someone who:
- Enjoys chatting with people from all walks of life
- Loves local heritage and wants to help keep it alive
- Likes being part of a team and making a difference
We require all volunteers to attend training as part of their role.
This may be delivered in several ways including attending organised sessions, work shadowing and through supervision.
Please note, this role doesn’t involve driving the trams or going near the tracks. This training maybe considered following 12months of volunteering.
