Family Hubs Volunteering

The hubs are welcoming, and friendly centres and volunteers are an important part of our team.

Community volunteers help create a bridge for families between the service that families experience and the community in which they live.

The hubs are welcoming, and friendly centres and volunteers are an important part of our team. 

We have a wide variety of volunteering opportunities such as delivering family groups, getting involved with our community projects and gaining valuable experience.

Our Family Hubs offer help and support to families across Redcar and Cleveland with a range of open access groups – including groups such as Breast Friends, Baby Buddies, Little Explorers, Young Parents, Dads, Neonatal Peer Support.  

There are also bookable sessions for parents, such as Starting Solids, Fussy Eating, Preparation for Parenthood, postnatal programmes.  Plus, a range of referral programmes such a Wriggle, Read and Rhyme, Early Years Parenting Support, Healthy Families, and many more.  

There are many options available and ways you can get involved to support these activities.

All volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer in one of our Family Hubs.

Little Explorers

Would you like to volunteer within a parent led group, the group is little explorers at Greengates Family Hub, Fridays 13:00 - 14:30pm.

Cafe support - Skelton and Grangetown Family Hubs

Our Family Hubs team are on the lookout for volunteers to help run and support the cafes located within Skelton and Grangetown Family Hubs.

Guisborough Family Hub Sensory Playgroup Volunteer

This role involves supporting our Guisborough Family Hub, by running a monthly Saturday morning sensory play session. Ideally you will work alongside other volunteers in this role, however there may be occasions where you are the only volunteer onsite. 

The playgroup is fully inclusive open to all children, experience of working with or supporting children who have sensory needs/ASD would be helpful, (this could be as a parent or carer).
