Parents are able to submit parental preferences for school places for their children.
If parents are either separated or do not live together but still have joint parental responsibility for a child, both parents are entitled to express a school preference.
Parents will be asked to make an agreed decision on the school preference or have the issue of the school preference legally resolved by the family court.
