The School Admissions Section will administer School Admissions Applications in line with the School Admissions Code of Practice regulations which can be found by visiting: School admissions code - GOV.UK

The following information only applies to community and voluntary-controlled schools.

Voluntary-aided, academies and free schools may have different policies related to families of service personnel. Admissions policies are usually available on school websites.#

We will consider applications from families of service personnel on an individual basis.

For Applications for the Main Admissions Round Entry (Reception or Year 7 Secondary)

  • you can provide an official letter declaring your relocation date and a unit postal address or quartering area address
  • we receive your application in advance of your move to allow time to process the application.
  • you can provide an official letter declaring your relocation date and a unit postal address or quartering area address

For all other Applications for Admission to Primary or Secondary School ( In Year Admissions, Mid Year School Transfers)

We will try to offer your child a place in advance of your family arriving if:

  • Parent/Carers are advised to contact the School Admissions Section so that advice and guidance can be provided on either email schools_admissions@redcar-cleveland or telephone 01642 837740.

If your move into the Redcar and Cleveland Council is not related to a military posting, we will treat your application as normal and may only consider an address as your main residence if you can prove that you are resident in the named address property.
