Fleet Services provides and maintains the council’s fleet of vehicles. Vehicles are hired to all council departments for both long- and short-term use, and a full range of vehicle maintenance and servicing is carried out in our workshops.
We also also offer a completely impartial MOT testing service to the public. Please note:
- We do not carry out repairs
- Card payments only are accepted
MOT Testing Services
Our MOT testing centre is located at our Central Depot on Limerick Road, Dormanstown.
We can carry out MOT tests for Class IV, Class V, and Class VII vehicles.
The MOT test does not include repairs.
Class IV
- Cars (up to 8 passenger seats)
- Motorhomes not exceeding 7 metres in length
- Dual-purpose vehicles
- PSVs (up to 8 seats)
- Goods vehicles (up to 3,000kg DGW)
- Ambulances and taxis
(Taxis and private hire vehicles may be subject to additional local requirements, prices may vary so please ask when booking) - Private passenger vehicles and ambulances (9–12 passenger seats)
Class V
- Vehicles up to 5,000kg
- Private passenger vehicles (13–16 passenger seats)
- Ambulances and vehicles with 13 or more passenger seats
Class VII
- Goods vehicles over 3,000kg up to 3,500kg DGW
- Vehicle registration documents must be presented at the test station.

- RCBC Staff: £49.85
- Class IV: £54.85
- Class V (13–16 seats): £59.55
- Class V (16+ seats): £80.65
- Class VII: £58.60

- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
