School Work Experience

Work experience offers you the chance to get a real insight into the world of work and begin to explore different career pathways, which may interest you.

We are committed to supporting all secondary schools in the borough to help build young people’s confidence and knowledge when making key decisions for their future careers.

We offer each secondary school within the Borough the following work experience learning activities:

  • Year 10 work experience placements – week-long placements based in a variety of areas across the council's service provision.
  • Mock interviews – for Year 10 students.
  • Attendance at school career evenings / fairs.
  • Meet the manager discussions – managers can attend Year 10 lessons to discuss their career aspirations and how they can be achieved.
