Reporting issues with housing
You can report disrepair in your rented property online.
You should describe the issue in as much detail as you can. You should also confirm that you've already reported the problem to your landlord, and they have not responded within a reasonable amount of time, or they’ve failed to deal with the problem.
You cannot report problems which only relate to the appearance of the property, for example the quality of the paintwork.
If you are a tenant of a housing association, please report your issues directly to them in the first instance.
Further information on your rights and responsibilities as a tenant and landlord in both the social and private rented sector is available on the government’s website. Use the link below to find more information:

Enforcement Policy
Fair and effective enforcement is essential to protect the health, safety and interests of the residents, visitors and businesses of Redcar and Cleveland.
This Service Enforcement Policy is designed to make sure that everyone knows the principles that the Service will apply when carrying out enforcement work, ensuring that the same principles are routinely applied, and that everyone involved in the process is treated fairly, consistently, and effectively.
The primary aim of enforcement activities is to achieve regulatory compliance to protect the general public, legitimate businesses, the environment, and groups such as consumers, residents and workers.
Enforcement includes actions aimed at ensuring that individuals or businesses comply with the law, carried out in the exercise of, or against the background of, appropriate statutory powers. This is not limited to formal enforcement action such as prosecution but includes, for example, the provision of warnings and advice to aid compliance.
