Redcar & Cleveland Council Borough Council, in partnership with our Domestic Abuse Specialist Services and partner organisations are committed to tackling all forms of domestic abuse through a range of services and support.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, and at immediate risk: Call the police on 999

If you've called 999 but cannot speak, you can cough or dial 55 once the call is connected and operators are trained to know this means you need assistance. Do not simply stay silent.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, but are not at immediate risk: Call the police on 101

Redcar & Cleveland Council, in partnership with our Domestic Abuse Specialist Services and partner organisations are committed to tackling all forms of domestic abuse. 

We do this through a range of services and support, in order that all residents of Redcar and Cleveland live free from the fear, threats and effects of domestic abuse and are enabled to build sustained healthy relationships.

What if I am concerned about an adult or child who may be witnessing or experiencing Domestic Abuse?

If you have safeguarding concerns around any children who might be witnessing or experiencing domestic abuse, you can also contact South Tees Multi Agency Children's Hub on 01642 130700.​

What if I am concerned about my own abusive behaviour, how do I get support?

Support is available for people who recognise that their behaviour is abusive and would like support to make positive changes.

Local support is available for those who are worried that they are acting abusively or showing abusive behaviour

The Men's Advice Line is a national support service that you can contact if you're worried about your behaviour. You can contact the Men's Advice Line by calling 0808 8010327.​

If I have experienced rape or other sexual offences, how do I get support?

  • SARC Teesside, via the Sexual Assault Referral Centre on 03333 44 8283. SARC provides 24/7 support to anyone who has experienced rape and other sexual offences, whether this has happened recently or in the past.
  • Arch on 01642 822331​. ARCH Teesside is a specialist sexual violence service offering free and confidential support, help and advocacy to people in the Teesside area who have experienced rape and sexual abuse, at any point in their lives.
