Eston swimming pool closed in 2020 due to the Coronavirus outbreak. In June 2020 there was significant flooding on the site and the resulting damage, combined with the age and condition of the equipment, meant that is was not economically viable to bring the pool back into use.
In collaboration with Everyone Active, the local community, and swimming clubs, we have developed plans for a new swimming pool. The proposals are for a:
- 6 lane, 25 meter pool complying with Sport England Competition standards to allow for gala use.
- Changing village.
- 150 seat spectator gallery.
- Above ground plant equipment.
The design is also incorporating a number of sustainability measures such as solar panels, air source heat pumps, increased wall insulation, high specification glazing along with state of the art poll filtration equipment.
The swimming pool will be accessible for all and will facilitate public swimming, swimming lessons, as well as galas and competition swimming. It seeks to enhance the existing leisure centre and provide much improved health and wellbeing facilities for the whole community.
Estimated completion: early 2025
