E-billing – what you need to know

If you have an online Council Tax account, the way that you will receive your bills and reminders is changing.

If you have an online Council Tax account, the way that you will receive your bills and reminders is changing. 

From 15th January 2026 you will need to sign into your online account to view bills and reminders. Paper copies will no-longer be sent through the post.      

Electronic billing has many advantages including:

  • You can view your bill and update your account from anywhere you have an internet connection
  • No need to wait in telephone queues or to receive information in the post, it is available instantly online
  • Access is 24\7, everyday
  • Doing it online uses less energy and helps to reduce our overall carbon footprint
  • By using the online service, you can save the Council money that can be used to improve services

You can opt out of E-billing If you would prefer to receive your information in paper format. Should you wish to do this you will need to sign into your account here www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/ctax

Click on ‘Account information’ and then ‘Update information’ and de-select the paperless billing option.
