Support with the Cost of Public Transport

Bus Fare Cap Announcement

The government are to provide up to £60 million from January 2023 to March 2023, to help bus operators to cap single adult fares at £2 per journey.

Patient Transport Service (PTS)

Patient Transport Service is a non-emergency service for people who may need special support getting to and from their healthcare appointments.

Railcard - Save 1/3rd on rail journeys

You can get up to a third off train fares with a railcard in Great Britain, saving up to £142 a year on average.

You may be eligible for 50% off travel if you’re on Universal Credit

You may be eligible for a Jobcentre Plus travel discount card if you’re on Universal credit.

Bus Passes – State Pension Age

In England, you can get a bus pass for free travel when you reach the State Pension Age.

If you have a disability, then you may be eligible for a disabled person’s pass if you live in England.

Support for Students

Redcar & Cleveland College Student Travel

Students can enjoy the benefit of free travel 24/7 during term time including weekends. In addition to this, students can use the bus pass Monday-Friday during college holidays.

The areas covered by the pass include Redcar, East Cleveland, Stockton-On-Tees, Middlesbrough, and Whitby. Students living outside of these areas will be provided with an enhanced bus pass covering their home location area as well as the Teesside and East Cleveland region.

Middlesbrough College Student Travel

Students can get access to free* bus travel 7 days a week and reimbursed weekday train travel to and from Middlesbrough College.
