Childcare can be expensive, but there is support available to help with the cost. To qualify you must use an approved childcare provider.
Free Childcare Entitlements
You may be eligible for free childcare depending on your child’s age and your circumstances:
- 15 hours free childcare for eligible 2-year-olds.
- 15 hours free childcare for all 3 and 4-year-olds.
- 30 hours free childcare for working parents of children aged 9 months to 4 years.

Tax-Free Childcare
You could get up to £2,000 per child, per year, to help with childcare costs.
Universal Credit for Childcare
If you’re working and claiming Universal Credit, you may be able to get up to 85% of your childcare costs covered.
