Healthy Babies Offer

Our Healthy Babies offer brings the help you may need, from pregnancy until your baby’s second birthday, into one clear place.

Becoming a parent is joyful, and it can also feel overwhelming. Healthy Babies is about making sure you know what support is out there and how to get it, without having to work it out alone.

Child health experts agree that the first 1,001 days, from pregnancy to age 2, shape a child’s health, wellbeing and opportunities for life more than any other period.

Every family needs some help along the way. Support is available from healthcare professionals, volunteers, family and friends, including:

  • Maternity care
  • Health visiting
  • Feeding support
  • Emotional and mental health support
  • Help bonding with your baby
  • Safeguarding
  • Support for children with additional needs

We’ve brought this information together in one place to help your family get the support it needs and give your children the best possible start.

Download our Healthy Babies information booklet below.

At Homepage | Best Start in Life, you can also find national information and advice around:

  • Pregnancy
  • Feeding and Nutrition
  • Parent/Infant relationships
  • Early Years Education and Childcare

Online resources for Families about The Brain Story

The University of Oxford, in partnership with the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative, is working to share knowledge about the science of brain development for families and professionals. This is important information for everybody to understand how our earliest experiences can affect our long-term mental and physical health.  Find out more by clicking the link below.
