Scrutiny and Improvement Committees

Each of the Scrutiny and Improvement Committees are aligned to a Directorate within the Council.

Their role is to:

• Approve and present investigative reports to the Cabinet and Council, detailing findings and recommendations on their Directorate areas
• Contribute at an early stage to the formulation and content of reports to Cabinet and Council
• Commission investigations as capacity dictates in relation to matters within their Directorate areas and will have responsibility for maintaining an overview of those investigations
