Choice Advice Service​​

The Choice Advice service is available to any parent/carer whose child is transferring from primary to secondary school, choosing a school for the first time or when moving schools during the school term. Through the Choice Adviser you can receive individual support, information and guidance about expressing a preference for a school for your child.

The Choice Adviser's role is to:-

  • Offer impartial and independent advice

  • Help parents/carers understand the school admissions process

  • Provide clear information that is easy to understand

  • Always listen to parents/carers questions and concerns

What a Choice Adviser can provide you with :

  • Admission policies for different types of schools

  • School Ofsted reports and school performance information

  • Oversubscription criteria

  • School profiles, ethos, special facilities etc.

  • Special needs policies and provisions

  • School specialism's

  • Times of the school day and term dates

  • Travel details

  • School uniform policies

  • Assistance in completing the application form online or a paper copy

The Choice Advice Service is available by email, over the phone, at one to one meetings or in group sessions.
