​​​​How to apply for or renew a blue badge

If you live in the borough of Redcar & Cleveland and you think you may be entitled to a badge you should apply to the Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Parking Team.


The Blue Badge Application form can be used to apply for a new Blue Badge or to renew an existing Blue Badge.

When renewing an existing Blue Badge you are advised to apply at least 28 days before the expiry date to
allow time for it to be processed. Please be advised that you may not automatically qualify for a renewal.

Please complete all relevant sections of the application form and provide the following supporting evidence
with your application (all proof of evidence should not be more than 12 months old):

  • ​Proof of ID, for example, a birth certificate, marriage certificate, valid driving licence or passport
  • Proof of residency, for example, a utility bill, Council Tax bill or tenancy agreement
  • One recent passport-standard photograph which must be taken within the month prior to the date of the application
  • £10.00 fee (this is refundable if your application is not successful)​
  • You may also be required to provide other supporting evidence (please refer to the form for details)​
​Please provide copies of the required documents as we cannot be held responsible for any documents that are lost in the post.

There is no formal right of appeal against the decision if you do not meet the eligibility conditions. However, if you are unhappy with our decision you may write to us at the above address, and enclose any additional evidence to support your application.

How to pay

Telephone: You can make a credit/debit card payment using the Council's automated telephone system on: 01642 774774 (please select the appropriate option)

Online: You can make a credit/debit card payment using the Council's online payments​

Post: Cheques/Postal Orders should be made payable to Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and crossed A/C payee. If you want a receipt, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Do not send post-dated cheques, as they will not be accepted. Payments should be sent to: Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Seafield House, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, Redcar and Cleveland, TS10 1SP.

In Person: at the Council's Cash Offices. View details of locations and opening hours.  If you pay by cash it is important to get a receipt.


Note: Badges will not be processed until your payment is received.
