Volunteering is an ideal way to learn new skills, meet new people and to build your self confidence through helping others and participating in worthwhile activity. Although you won't earn money, it would look good on a CV or job application and can help you be more employable.
Volunteers are required to visit specific service users in Redcar & Cleveland area. Volunteers will be matched to the most suitable people in their area and are asked to spend 2-3 hours during the week with our clients, forming friendly relationships, having a chat with them and making sure that they are not too isolated. Volunteers are also encouraged to conduct safe and well checks for our clients, ensuring that they are alright and that their heating system is working. Volunteers sometimes help service users with shopping.
Customer Support Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to visit older people to explore and note what practical help they need to make a difference to their life, liaise with RVS staff to see how these could be met through the charity or other services and arrange a volunteer to carry them out. Also to review the services and help to arrange further requirements if needed over the coming months.
Volunteers are needed for busy office which delivers a variety of services to elderly isolated people across the Tees Valley. Supporting the team from answering calls, administration tasks and data input duties. You will also be the initial point of contact for our clients, volunteers and partner agencies.
Training will be given in safeguarding, health and safety and access to a variety of on line courses are available for all RVS volunteers. Certificates are available for all completed courses.
