Local Government Pension Scheme
The Local Government Pension Scheme is a tax approved, defined benefits, occupational pension scheme that offers excellent benefits such as:
- Pension benefits based on length of membership and Career Average Revalued Earnings
- Death Benefits
- Ill Health Retirement Benefits
- Early Retirement Benefits
You will automatically become a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme (administered by The Teesside Pension Fund) with effect from your first day of employment.
If you do not wish to be a member of the scheme (or decide at some later date that you do not wish to be a member), you can obtain an opting out form from the Teesside Pension Fund website. If you do not have access to the internet, you can request a form in writing from Teesside Pension Fund, PO Box 340, Middlesbrough, TS1 2XP. However you cannot sign the opt form until, at the earliest, the first day of membership of the scheme.

Long Service Awards
On completion of 15, 25 and 40 years continuous service with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council (or predecessor authorities) you will receive a Long Service Award Payment and will be invited to attend the Annual Long Service Award Presentation Ceremony. The current amounts paid are:
- 15 Years Award £100.00
- 25 Years Award £150.00
- 40 Years Award £400.00
Employees who attain 10, 20, and 30 years continuous service receive letters of recognition to commemorate their achievement
Childcare Voucher Scheme
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is delighted to provide staff with a childcare voucher scheme. The scheme is designed to be simple and flexible for parents and the vouchers can be used for many kinds of childcare.
Southern Management Leisure
Employees and those in their immediate family can benefit from a special corporate membership rate when becoming a member of one the Leisure Centres managed by Southern Leisure Management - known as Everyone Active
