Family History Searches
The records available comprise:
Digital scans of original burial registers (or computerised records for later burials)
Grave details indicating the names of those buried in each grave (important for finding other members of families)
Section maps of the main 8 cemeteries indicating the sections in each cemetery where each grave is located

Unwanted Burial Plots
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council will purchase back from the exclusive right of burial owner any burial plot which has not been buried in and which is no longer wanted. This will be purchased back for the same price that was paid for the plot (which is detailed on the deed of grant of right of burial). Please contact the Bereavement Services Office if you would like the Council to buy back a burial plot.
