OFSTED and Care Quality Commission Inspections
Local Area revisit inspection Monday 22nd-Wednesday 24th November 2021
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will carry out jointly a revisit inspection of your local area. Under the Children and Families Act 2014, the government placed new duties on the local health, social and education services that provide for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This is a revisit inspection as the local area has a written statement of action from the previous inspection in 2018.
The purpose of this re-visit is to determine whether your local area has made sufficient progress in addressing each area of serious weakness detailed in the written statement of action (WSOA). The focus of the re-visit will also address why the WSOA was issued.
The views of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, and the views of their parents and carers will be gathered during conversations with a number of early years settings, schools, colleges and specialist services. These views are critical to the inspection process. During the inspection, Ofsted and CQC inspectors will be keen to speak to as many children and young people and their parents and carers as possible.
A letter has gone to schools and other partners with information about how to complete the parent/carer survey. A copy of the letter is accessible here. LA SEND Revisit Redcar and Cleveland letter to parents
