Direct Payments​

If your care and support costs are paid to you as a direct payment you can make decisions about the provision of your care and support. 


You will have greater choice and control over your care and support and includes things such as employing a personal assistant.

There are lots of advantages to employing someone to help with your care and support, but being an employer is a big responsibility and there are lots of things to consider.

Our Guide to Employing a Personal Assistant will help you understand what being an employer means. It explains what you need to consider and what your responsibilities would be if your employ someone to take care of you. The guide will also be helpful if you are already employing someone as a​ personal assistant.

You can click on the below links to view​ a copy of the Direct Payment Agreement that you will be asked to sign. This is for information only. If your health or social care worker agrees t​o a Direct Payment, they will print out a copy for you to sign.
