Handyperson and Adaptations Team
The Handyperson and Adaptations Team offers assistance to older, disabled and vulnerable people across Redcar & Cleveland by providing advice on housing options, minor and major housing adaptations as well as delivering a handyperson service for small jobs.
The Handyperson Service undertakes small jobs for Redcar & Cleveland residents who are over 60 or disabled or at high risk of falling or who are vulnerable in other ways and have no one else to help.
The Handyperson and Adaptation Team carry out minor adaptations to help people live independently at home for as long as possible. A referral from an Occupational Therapist or other social care professional is required for this service and will be assessed for need. Any work is carried out free of charge.
Major adaptations can sometimes be the best option to allow you to remain in your own home or be independent for longer. This may include work such as installing a stair lift or level access shower.
