What is the Families' Information Service?
Families Information service are still working from home; therefore, we don't have access to the freephone in the office. The best way to contact us is via FIS@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk
Funded childcare schemes are still going ahead for the following term for both 30hrs free childcare and 2YO 15hrs childcare.
30hrs free childcare is for working families with a nursery aged 3 or 4 year old. To qualify, parents need to be earning the equivalent of at least 16 hours at minimum wage per week and parents must apply for their code by 31st December 2020, in order to have their funding in place for the start of the Spring term (January 2021). This applies each term – apply by 31st March to start funding in April, apply by 31st August to start funding in September and apply by 31st December to start in January. To apply for 30 hours free childcare and to find out what other help families can get with childcare costs, visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
Golden Tickets have just been sent out to families, ready for the Spring term to start in January. Golden Tickets don't automatically mean that a family is eligible for the funding and they will need to apply via the Peoples Information Network website –http://www.peoplesinfonet.org.uk/kb5/redcar/directory/fel_app_landing.page
In addition, the government have announced that in the light of Covid-19, all 2 year old's who have a social worker will be eligible for 2YO funding from the term after they turn 2.
The Families' Information Service provides information, advice and guidance for parents, carers, practitioners and children on the wide range of services and activities/events available for children and young people aged 0-20 years old.
