Its easy and its FREE! If you are under 18, just take a parent or guardian into any library in Redcar & Cleveland and get them to fill in and sign a registration form for you. Anyone can join - the younger the better. You will then get your very own library card straight away.

What can you borrow?
You can borrow up to 10 books and/or storytapes at a time for up to 4 weeks. When you bring them back you can choose different ones.

For a small charge you can also hire childrens DVDs. Help with homework is available in libraries at all times.

All libraries have weekly drop in sessions for children under 5 years old and their carers. Please contact your local library to check when these take place.

Some branches have Childrens Reading Clubs. Please contact your local library for more information.

Exciting events are held during the school holidays. These are open to all but children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Computers:
Every library has computers for you to use. You will need to bring your parent or guardian in with you the first time you want to use a computer so that they can sign the conditions of use on your behalf.. Use the internet to help you with your homework or play computer games. Use the Word Processing or Publishing software to write your own stories, design posters, leaflets or greetings cards. You will just have to pay a small amount if you want to print anything (A4 sheets either in black & white or colour).
