Equality Analysis

Every day, decisions are made within and by the Council that affect the lives of local people, service users and our employees. We use equality analysis as a tool to help us make fair, sound and transparent decisions that are based on a robust understanding of the needs and rights of the groups and individuals who may be affected. Our guidance on carrying our Equality Analysis can be downloaded below

Equality analysis is an integral part of our decision-making process. In order to ensure that Councillors are fully aware of the impact their decisions will have on equality, the outcome of our equality analysis is summarised within relevant reports to Cabinet or Borough Council. From February 2012, we have started to publish detailed equality analyses along with our Cabinet Papers. Equality Analysis in respect of confidential reports will not be published on the website. For equality analyses in respect of decisions taken before February, please contact Steve Cooke on 01642 444091, or Stuart Myers on 01642 444471.
