Free Support Number for Children and Young People in the South Tees Area
During these difficult times we are aware that many children, young people and families may be anxious, struggling to cope with the daily changes or just need someone to talk to. We have therefore, set up a daily duty telephone line which will be manned by one of our therapeutic practitioners between 2pm and 4pm everyday. If you would like to access this support then please call 01642 505580 and select option 3 during these times and you will be transferred straight through. You do not need to be accessing The Link, or be waiting to access, to utilise this telephone line, if you need information, advice or support then please give us a call and we will do what we can to help.
Information for Children and Families
Please be assured that we will continue to provide services to safeguard children and young people throughout this difficult period but like many other services we anticipate that we will have less staff available to us and therefore services may be delivered differently. At times we may rely on partners to help us but anyone who contacts you or visits you must be able to prove their identity to you. If you have any safeguarding or welfare concerns that you need to bring to our attention, then please ring the South Tees MACH on 01642 130700.
Information for Partners
Our highest priority is on our most vulnerable children and we are maximising resources across the Council to ensure that all children who need our help will be appropriately supported.
Information sharing is paramount. Please let us know of any issues affecting the team around the family e.g. if someone is self-isolating, so that we can keep our systems up to date and avoid unnecessary home visits and contact. Where we can be confident that a child has been seen and spoken to within the multi-agency team, then for some families (under these emergency planning scenarios) this may be deemed an appropriate level of contact and will enable us to rationalise our staffing resources to prioritise those most in need or most at risk. Please help us to share information so that we manage risks appropriately
If you are worried about a child, please continue to contact the South Tees Multi-Agency Hub (MACH) in the same way that you always have on 01642 130700.
