Health and Wellbeing Board

Redcar & Cleveland Borough​ Council has joined with Middlesbrough Borough Council to form the South Tees Joint Health and Wellbeing Board. 

The board's focus will be on securing the best possible health outcomes for all residents and will collaborate effectively using agreed principles to:
 

  • Provide strategic direction
  • Ensure all statutory duties are met
  • Sign off for key documents, i.e. Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) /Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JHWBS)
  • Review progress against priorities
  • Develop a forward work programme
  • Link with neighbouring authorities across the Tees Valley
  • Influence joint working between commissioners and providers of health and social care service
  • Communicate and engage with local people in how they can achieve the best possible quality of life and support they need to take control over their personal health and wellbeing

 
The Board will also develop and implement a Communications and Engagement Strategy outlining the contribution of stakeholders' and the public's opinion on their decisions how they will publicise their actions including consultation on service changes.
