Responsibilities of the Employment, Health & Safety Committee and meeting papers available to download.

The Employment, Health & Safety Committee is responsible for: 

  1. All the non-executive powers of the Council to deal with all employment and human resources matters
  2. Any matters reserved for full Council in the Constitution but which by reason of urgency, commercial sensitivity or other relevant reason cannot be discussed in a meeting of the full Council
  3. Registration of common land/town/village greens
  4. All health and safety functions including:
  • Statistics on accident records, ill health and sickness absence
  • Accident investigations and subsequent action
  • Inspections of the workplace by enforcing authorities, management or employee health and safety representatives
  • Risk assessments
  • Health and safety training
  • Emergency procedures
  • Changes in the workplace affecting the health, safety and welfare of employees
