Taxi Accounts
Legislation allows councils to set fees to recover the reasonable costs associated with providing the licensing service. Fees cannot lawfully be used to raise revenue and any deficits and surpluses of licensing income against expenditure should be brought into account when determining fees in later years.
The Council has divided its taxi accounts into four regimes. Each regime is calculated separately to ensure that one does not subsidise another. The regimes are:
- Drivers (DRV)
- Hackney Carriages (HCV)
- Private Hire Vehicles (PHV)
- Private Hire Operators (PHO)
The documents below contain details of the taxi accounts and show how the Council calculates its taxi fees.
