Licence Summary 
To operate a public weighbridge, you require a certificate of competence issued by the Chief Inspector for Weights and Measures for Redcar and Cleveland Borou​gh Council.

Eligibility Criteria 
You must have sufficient knowledge for the proper performance of your duties.

Regulation Summary 

Will Tacit Consent Apply?
Yes. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from us within 21 days.

We aim to acknowledge your application form within three working days. If you have applied online we will acknowledge your application via email.

You may appeal to the National Measurement and Regulation Office if your application is refused.

Consumer Complaint
We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Citizens Advice Consumer Services will give you advice. From outside the UK contact the UK European Consumer Centre.
