A pavement licence allow licence holders to place removable furniture over certain highways adjacent to the premises in relation to which the application was made.
A new streamlined process has been introduced to allow businesses to secure these licences in time for the summer. These licences will usually remain in place for a year but not beyond 30 September 2021.
Alternatively, a Pavement Cafe licence issued under the Highways Act 1980 can be applied for if you wish to continue to place removeable furniture on the highway beyond 30 September 2021.
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council publishes notices of new applications for licences for the public to view. These can be found on our Licence Applications page here.
