​​​Car Boot Sale / Occasional Sales

Summary
To hold an occasional sale such as a car boot sale in Redcar and Cleveland you will need to notify Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council .

Process
Any person who intends to hold an occasional sale (or to permit their land to be used for an occasional sale) shall give notice to the Council not less than 21 days before the sale.

The notice must be made in writing (including by electronic means) and include the organiser's name and address as well as the following information:
  • the date of the sale
  • the time of commencement
  • whether the sale is to be held on other days, and if so, what days
  • the extent of the premises to be occupied for the sale
  • the nature of goods or services to be provided
  • the name and business address of the person who will promote the sale

Fees
There is no fee associated with this licence.
