​​Gambling Activities

In accordance with the Gambling Act 2005, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is the licensing authority for the Redcar and Cleveland district and is responsible for licensing premises for gambling activities as well as the issue of various
other gambling authorisations.

The following authorisations are issued by the Council:

  • Premises Licences (betting, bingo, gaming centres and casinos)
  • Provisional Statements
  • Club Gaming Permits and/or Club Machine Permits
  • Family Entertainment Centre Gaming Machine Permits
  • Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permits
  • Small Society Lottery Registrations
  • Prize Gaming Permits

Statement of Principles

The Act requires the Council to publish a statement of the principles which it proposes to apply when exercising its functions.​ The Statement of Principles is available to download and view below:

Gambling Codes of Practice

The Gambiling Commission has set out a code of practice to be followed by Local Authorities. More information about the code of practice is available on the Gambling Commission website here.
