VE Day Celebrations
Much like the rainbows that have been popping up across the country we want you to make more magnificent window art.
Simply using materials found in your home, a little imagination and a street facing window in your home, we can turn our towns into the biggest outdoor street gallery in the world!
As part of a national call out residents are encouraged to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day on 8 May with a stay at home street party, in support we would like you to decorate your window to celebrate VE Day.
Sounds great, right? Check out what local artist Jane Cuthbert has put together to get you inspired!
Want to see how it's done? Local artist Dianne Bowell runs you through how create your own window gallery at home!
Commemorate VE Day at Home
Although we cannot party in the streets, we will certainly be able to celebrate VE Day at home.
As part of Kirkleatham Museums “Get Creative at Home" (https://redcarcleveland.co.uk/enjoy/creative-at-home/) programme , a series of 'how to' craft videos, and activities have been put together to help you celebrate VE Day at home.
The tutorials show you how to make everything you will need for your perfect stay at home VE Day party from medals, traditional bunting and lemonade to your very own submarine bubble blower. What you waiting for, give it a go. Further information can be found here - https://redcarcleveland.co.uk/enjoy/ve-day-celebrations/
We're you looking forward to getting the bunting out? Why not make your own? You can download and print the template below or just use it for ideas for your own VE Day themed bunting masterpiece!
